Mediasite Mosaic

Mediasite Mosaic enables you to use your computer to record your display, camera and microphone to create a multi-track video presentation to upload to MyMediasite.

There are two main sections in Mediasite Mosaic:



Capture

This is where you select the device/s you want to record by clicking on one of the three input icons



Microphone


Click on the Microphone icon to open the selection window. Here you can select the microphone input you would like to use


To ensure the microphone is working, talk and watch the level indicator on the right-hand side. If you see the visual feedback, that confirms the microphone is working

Camera


Click on the Camera icon to open the selection window. Here you can select the camera input you would like to use

Source


Click on the Source icon to open the selection pop up. Here you can select the input you would like to use.

There are 2 types of Sources you can select from, simply click on the drop-down box and select either Share your window or Share your display

  • Share your window allows you to select a particular application to record e.g. PowerPoint or your web browser
  • Simply select the appropriate application and click OK

Note:

Before the recording has started, the source you select will appear as a Black image with white text in the centre stating the name of the selected source


  • Share your display allows you to record the whole desktop/laptop screen

Recording

Before recording please insure all your inputs and sources are correctly set as you will not be able to change them once you have started.

Recording controls:



There are 3 main controls located at the bottom of the window:

  1. Record
  2. Stop
  3. Pause 

To start the recording simply click the record button


A count down timer will start in the centre of the screen 3, 2, 1.

As the recording starts, Mosaic will minimise the screen into a small window in the top right hand corner of your screen only displaying your camera. To maximise the Mosaic window click the "Exit compact overlay" button


If you wish to pause mid recording click the pause button


then to start recording again click the record button


If you have selected to record a source like a browser window, a yellow border will outline the area that is being captured


To stop and finish the recording simply click the "Stop" button


You will be notified once you've finished the recording, a pop up will appear stating that the presentation has been successfully created


Presentations


All Presentations recorded on your device with Mediasite Mosaic will appear here.

In this section you can view and manage your individual presentations


The menu button beside each presentation allows you to:

  • Delete
  • Upload to your MyMediasite
  • Rename the presentation
  • Open in Explorer
  • Open in MyMediasite

Import

The Import function in Mediasite Mosaic allows you to upload videos in an MP4 format. When importing videos there is the option to import an individual video, or all the videos within a selected folder. Either option will follow the same process with the only difference being what is selected.  For a more automated workflow, you can specify to have these imported videos automatically uploaded to MyMediasite.

In the top right corner there is a Import button. Click the button for the following options:


Settings 

To access Mediasite Mosaic Settings, click the menu button (3 dots) in the top right corner, then click Settings from the drop down menu



You can now view or edit the settings as required
