  1. The standard Dell Dock (D6000) will require the provided 130W power supply

  2. Once the Dock is powered you can connect the Dock to the Laptop via the USB-C cable
  3. The USB-C cable will have a USB-A adaptor over the top which can be pulled back

Dell D6000 Dock Ports

Your monitors will use either Display Port or HDMI cables. On the back of the dock there are:

  • 2 x Display Port
  • 1 x HDMI

Also, see Multiple Monitors

There are 4 USB-A ports to connect your peripherals and 1 USB-C port.

To minimise any audio issues or disconnections, we advise you connect headphones/microphones directly to the laptop USB ports.

You can also connect your Dock physically to the network via an Ethernet cable for a more reliable connection

To connect your computer to the network in your office.

  1. From the wall outlet, connect a blue network cable to the back of the Huawei deskphone into the LAN port (if you have no Huawei deskphone on your desk, connect straight to the computer/dock)

  2. From the back of the phone, connect a grey network cable from the PC port to the network port in your dock (if you have one) or computer

Troubleshooting

  • The phone will power on (can see images/words on the screen), if it doesn't then, that network port isn't active and try the wall outlet beside it
  • Turn the computer on to see if you login and see network drive mappings in File Explorer
  • If no network access, please contact the Service Desk with your office room number and the wall outlet number
