How to Import a Zoom Meeting into Your Blackboard Course

If you’ve scheduled a Zoom meeting outside of Blackboard (e.g., through the Zoom web portal), you can still make it appear inside your Blackboard unit using the Import Meeting feature. This also brings in any associated cloud recordings.

1.  Open the Zoom Tool in Blackboard

Navigate to the Zoom LTI tool within your course (e.g., Zoom Meetings/Recordings).

Example from the course: HLTH1003-2025-T3

2. Click the Three Dots Menu

In the Zoom tool, find the ellipsis () next to the Schedule a New Meeting button.

3. Select "Import meeting"

From the drop-down menu, choose Import meeting.

4. Enter the Meeting ID

A pop-up window will appear. Paste the Zoom Meeting ID for the session you want to import (e.g., 814 4149 7508).

5. Click "Import"

Once you’ve entered the correct meeting ID, click Import.

The meeting (and its cloud recordings, if available) will now be listed under your Blackboard course's Zoom tool.

💡 Why Use This?

  • Makes recordings visible to students through Blackboard
  • Helps centralise course content and reduce confusion
  • Enables proper meeting history within the unit
