SCU’s Counselling, Wellbeing & Safety Team and the Vice President of Student Registrar receive all student reports for critical and non-critical incidents entered into Riskware. The Office of Vice Chancellor also has oversight of student critical incidents.
All reports will be reviewed and where required, responded to, to ensure appropriate after-care support and documentation. We will treat reporting staff and students’ information confidentially and will only disclose it to third parties in accordance with this notice, or with your consent, or if required to do so by law.
All reports, dependent on the type of incident/hazard, will be automatically assigned to a staff member or group to manage the appropriate post incident response, support and documentation. This reporting line structure is informed by SCU staff and student systems.
*In cases where an impacted student(s) of a lodged report is involved with or impacted by the reporting staff member’s supervisor in a Non-Critical or Critical Student Incident, upon this staff member’s discretion, there is the choice to redirect the report to be automatically assigned to SCU’s Counselling, Wellbeing & Safety Team instead by doing the below.
In the Who section of the report, a question will show ‘Would you like to keep this report confidential?'.
If Yes is selected, the below confidentiality statement will display in a pop-up window to the reporting staff member submitting a confidential report. Staff must acknowledge the message by selecting the OK button in order to continue.
